Workshop: A Day of Sketch

I am so excited for our upcoming day retreat of yoga, guided imagery, and art. We will begin with a gentle, yet rejuvenating yoga practice followed by a peaceful and energizing guided imagery session. We will break for bit enjoying some friendship, light refreshments and hot and cold beverages. Our instructor, Jean Forell will set up several still life's and guide and nurture us as we plunge into the wonderful world of sketch. Jean is an artist and retired teacher of Art, and fellow yogi. This will be such an enjoyable day, and we hope you join us!

Nurture & Nourish: A Day of Retreat & Celebration for Women

Come join Holly Makimaa, holistic/spiritual coach, and Martha Limauro, Registered Yoga Teacher, for a day designed to help busy women rest, renew and connect deeply with themselves — body, mind and spirit. Meet other dynamic and creative women who aspire to blossom to their fullest potentials in a nurturing, supportive atmosphere just a short distance from city life. No experience necessary. Jeremy Arndt is coming to the Still Butterfly Yoga Studio October 21th-24th


Jeremy Arndt is a world-traveling musician from Michigan.  For the last 4 years, he has traveled the world studying different musical traditions and sharing his own music.  His journeys have taken him to unique performance stages around the world such as Moroccan Riads, Bulgarian tango bars, remote African villages, and the famous Gaudi Parc Guell in Barcelona, Spain, amongst others.  He has shared his music in 19 different countries, on 5 continents.  He crafts his gentle blend of world-music, inspired by his journeys, with the hand pan and other world instruments.  Jeremy will be playing music from his new album.


Concert Night: 

October 22nd from 6-7:30 pm $10 ($15 couples/family)

Join Jeremy at Still Butterfly for an evening concert on the rare and enchanting hand pan (aka PANart Hang, Hang Drum, Halo), as well as other world instruments.  The yoga studio creates a sacred space where the music can be listened to, felt, and experienced unlike a performance at a coffee shop or café.  Grab a chair, blanket or pillow to sit on and close your eyes, and let the music take you away. Concert performances are interlaced with stories and teachings from his travels around the world. Every concert experience is unique and will not be repeated!  


Sound Journey Workshop: 

October 23rd from 6-8:30 pm $30

Join Jeremy as he brings in instruments to create a unique experience.  A sound journey workshop will contain elements of meditation, simple yoga asana (great for all levels), teachings, and sound of the didgeridoo, hand pan, meditation bowls, guitar, and more to take students on an inward journey.   Guests are invited to lie down and relax after the initial meditation and warm-up asana practice.  Guests will receive individual sound massages with certain instruments like the didgeridoo and singing bowls.  In order to keep this more personal, class sizes will be limited.

Yoga Class and Live Music 

October 21st and 24th , 9:00 am / 6:00 pm

Join us as Jeremy weaves his world music grooves into a yoga class.  Every live music and yoga experience is different and flows with the energy of the class.  The music will complement your class and help take you deeper within as the melodies are interwoven with the teachings of the class and the poses.  The music is unique and not experienced in your typical yoga class.  The music is instrumental, and not aligned with any particular devotion.  Music promotes unity of all cultures, traditions, and beliefs.

In partner yoga, two bodies come together and do the postures at the same time creating unique postures that feel great. Practicing yoga with a partner cultivates deeper awareness of ourselves and increases our communication skills with others. Partner yoga requires that we “check in” with our partner to keep it fun and relaxing. These postures allow experienced yogis to go deeper than they could by themselves. Balance and focus along with a good sense of humor are often required. You don’t have to have a 
spouse or significant other, just a friend you trust and want to spend time with!

Yoga Nidra ~

Yoga Nidra is a holistic, meditative practice for deep relaxation and healing. Its origins can be traced back to ancient Eastern teachings which were designed to extend our understanding of overcoming our mind’s desire to separate itself from our Divine True Nature. The Sanskrit word for yoga means “union” and Nidra means “sleep”.
In a deep relaxed state of Nidra, the mind is in a place between sleep and awake. In this subconscious state the conscious mind (the thinking mind) takes a back seat. The subconscious mind is very obedient and immediately follows orders. You will learn how to access powerful forces within you to gain inner awareness, knowledge, increase creativity and heal the body, and to recognize your True Self.
Do NOT come on a full stomach (snore). A small snack 1-2 hours prior is recommended.

Mindful Eating ~

Enjoy a healthy relationship with food and eating! This session will help you reconnect with and honor your body's innate hunger and fullness cues, find pleasure in food and eating without guilt, and trust your body to guide your eating. Learn about the signs of hunger and fullness, how to rate hunger and fullness, and practice the steps of the mindful eating process.
Extreme Self Care ~

Self-care is living in a way that cultivates health and life balance, enabling you to enjoy life in ways that are most important to you. Self-care is all about nourishing and nurturing yourself and, rather than being selfish, self-care is the best gift you can give to yourself and others.
